Danny Rich has a tenacious drive to overcome whatever comes his way but a drug addiction almost took his life.  A local prep product, Danny enjoyed a stellar college career at Weber State and went on to play professionally as well.

Rich, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound insider linebacker, came to Weber State from nearby Bonneville High School, where he was a standout football and baseball player. A team captain, Rich earned First Team All-Big Sky Conference honors in 1980 and 1981. He was named to the Big Sky Conference Silver Anniversary Team, established in 1988.

In 1980, Rich finished with 161 tackles, a pass interception, fumble recoveries, and nine tackles for loss.  Rich held the record for most tackles in a single game. Rich left WSU as the career tackle leader with 450.  Rich played for three seasons with the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League. He was one of the USFL league leaders in 1983, topping the Express with 121 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a pair of interceptions.
